Living Forward

Living Forward is our ministry to widows and widowers who have experienced the loss of their spouse. In the new season of life that widowhood brings, this ministry provides fellowship & support, plus a shared understanding & comfort in meeting with others on the same journey. While tears are occasionally shared, we have become a group where sharing & laughter are ever present when we gather. We are a vibrant group that enjoys the twice a month planned gatherings and events that find us either in homes for fellowship dinners, or enjoying outside events and activities. Together, it is our goal to be ‘Living Forward’ with hope, one day at a time, by God’s grace and strength.

If you are a widow or widower, we’d love to have you join us!

Summit Kids

Summit Kids is our Sunday Evening Children's Ministry program. Dates: January - March and September - November Time: 6:00-7:30 pm
"... Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, so that we may walk in His paths..." Isaiah 2:3

Q: What is Summit Kids?

A: Summit Kids is a children's ministry at Cornerstone Church whose main goals are to:
1. Grow our children into a deeper relationship with Jesus
2. Create more conversation time with our children
3. Strive to give deeper meaning and understanding to verse memorization
4. Create a time period more conducive to volunteer and family schedules

Q: How long is Summit Kids?

A: Summit Kids is divided into two ten week sessions and we will meet on Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:30. We believe that family time is important so we want to make sure we have a good balance of family time and ministry.

Q: What will my children do each week at Summit Kids?

A: There will be a large group session which will include an activity, time of worship and a snack. Following the large group session there will be three 20-minute small group sessions to include: lesson and verse memorization; game time and a video/discussion time applying the lesson and missions to our everyday life.

Q: You say there will be verse memorization, but what will that look like?

A: We believe hiding Gods word in our hearts is important. The verses we will memorize will be related to the lesson. While we encourage parents to practice the verses throughout the weeks, we will be learning the verses together during the small group time in a fun and non-competitive way.

Q: Large Group? Does that mean my kindergartner and fifth grader will be together?

A: Yes….and no. Everyone will be together for the large group session, but they will be broken into their age groups and will sit with their small group leader. We will make sure the time is energetic, exciting, and participatory. Fifth grade students will be given the opportunity to help during large groups if they are interested. Our hope is to disciple the older kids to be able to lead, encourage, and teach their peers about Jesus.

Q: Can we invite kids from non-Christian families?

A: ABSOLUTELY. In fact, we encourage it. We believe this ministry will be a great outreach. While Jesus will always be the center and we will never water down the truth or compromise, we hope to make the environment a relaxing and non-threating place for all kids to come learn of God’s love for them.

Q: Why should I sign my children up for Summit Kids?

A: If you are interested in having your child(ren) know and experience God through worship, lessons and connecting on a small group level, if you would like to encourage your child(ren) to be a light and invite other children to a program where they too can learn of God without any requirements – then Summit Kids is for them! Divorce Care

DivorceCare is a ministry that is open to those who are experiencing the pain of separation and divorce. Two 13 week sessions are offered at Cornerstone Church each year. Please check the “Happenings” section on the home page for the dates of the next session, or call the church office.

Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before.

DivorceCare is designed to help you answer some of those questions and start you on the road to recovery. If you, or someone you know, needs this kind of help, please consider attending our next session.

Children are a gift from God. They're precious and adorable, and they grow up so fast!

At Cornerstone, we take every opportunity to share the love of Christ with our children. We provide Sunday School classes for children of all ages. We have a thriving youth group for middle and high-schoolers. We have a Vacation Bible School every summer. We also have a SUMMIT KIDS program that runs on Sunday nights during the school year. We also have a children's choir that runs through the school year, and they practice Sunday before SUMMIT KIDS. Let us know if your children are interested!

When you come to Cornerstone, know that your kids will find many opportunities to learn and play in a safe and friendly environment. All of our volunteers are cleared by Pennsylvania standards.

Youth Group

Our teens are some of our favorite people - they've got great passions and big dreams.

The Junior and Senior High School Youth Groups ministry offers teens the opportunity to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ through group Bible study, strong Christian fellowship, and challenging ministry opportunities both inside and outside the life of Cornerstone Church.

We hope you check it out soon!

Young Adults

Are you 18-30's, with or without kids, and looking for fellowship with like-minded young adults? We've got a lot for you at Cornerstone.
RISE is for you if you're out of high school and working to discover the path God has for your life. We meet every Sunday morning at 9:15am for study + fellowship. We meet Monday evenings for Bible Study. We also plan service projects and hangouts each month.

THRIVE is for you if you're in your late 20's and 30's. We're asking hard questions about how to live out our Christian faith in the workplace, our neighborhoods, and with our families.

Email Pastor Aria Mavvaji with any questions...

At Cornerstone, our men are involved in a lot of ways. But as men, we like to take the time every so often to just be men. We're planning a few events this year for men to get together and hang out, have fellowship, and enjoy some our our common hobbies.

Our men's ministry is in the developing stages. We're open to ideas, and we're looking for a few good men to bring some great thoughts to the table. If you're looking for a place to fit in, or if you've got ideas for events that bring men together, touch base with an elder or pastor. We're looking forward to some great events this year.

The mission of the Women's Ministry Team at Cornerstone is to show the love of Christ to women by helping in times of need, teaching the good news of Christ through Bible study, praying with (and for) each other, and giving women opportunities to use their God-given talents to minister to others. If you have a God-given talent that you'd like to use to minister to other ladies in our church with, please be sure to contact us.

We are an intergenerational church rooted in historic, biblical Christianity.
We love people of all ages, but our PrimeTimers group absolutely thrives at Cornerstone.
You'll just have to visit and experience what we have here. We'd love to meet you!

Growth Groups

In the Bible, God’s people are not simply called to be followers of Jesus.
We’re called to be a body of believers – a sort of radical community in which each of us loves each other as if we were all family. This takes time, commitment, and emotional resources. It also brings joy and hope that many other gatherings aren’t set up to provide.

At Cornerstone, we try to live this out with small groups that meet a few times each month. We meet for food, fellowship, study, accountability, friendship, recreation, service, and fun.

Maybe a next step for you is to check one of our groups out? See the info below or talk to one of us on a Sunday – we’d love to get to know you better!
