Men’s Ministry
“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”
Our Men’s Ministry focuses on the opportunities men have to influence their home, local church, work, and social environments. Join us for prayer, Bible studies, quarterly breakfasts, annual retreats, and other special events.
Our men get together throughout the year in a variety of ways for spiritual growth, fun, relationship development, and service. They enjoy father/son events, One-to-One Discipleship mentoring, semi-annual Sunday morning study series, and chances to assist our church and membership in service-related special projects.
Mission:
To lead men to Christ and to encourage and disciple them toward finding the fullness of their potential in Christ. That they develop spiritually, draw closer to God, and become leaders, not only in their families, but in their sphere of influence, and be the true leaders God intended us to be.
Purpose:
Cornerstone’s Men's Ministry is the active pursuit of men to connect them to God, His Word, and other men to win, grow, and train God's man in Christ.
Events
Men’s Fellowship Breakfasts
Deepen relationships, share testimonies, and hear from a variety of guest speakers who inspire and challenge the hearts of men.
Men’s Breakfasts take place quarterly, typically in February, June, August, and November each year.
Men’s Bible Studies
Our Bible study meets on Saturday mornings from 8:30 to 10:30 am. Our goal is to strengthen one another in our faith so that we can meet various challenges in the power of the Spirit.
Annual Men’s Retreat
The first weekend of June every year the men of Cornerstone spend the weekend together enjoying the outdoors, friendship, and studying God’s word.
Discipleship Training & Mentoring
To teach, train, and disciple a younger Christian is one of the most rewarding activities in the Christian life. It is one of the most powerful ways in which men are trained and equipped to grow as Christians. To have someone who has traveled the pathway of life and demonstrates wise godliness in the context of a supportive friendship is not only a Biblical model given us by Jesus with His disciples but a great seedbed for developing tomorrow’s leaders. It will have a lasting impact not only upon those we disciple but upon our own lives.
Men’s One-to-One Discipleship
One-to-one discipling is a nine-session course for one believer to help another believer learn the basics of his/her Christian faith. It helps lay nine foundation stones upon which believers can build the rest of their lives.
Each lesson has verses to read with questions to answer on that topic. And it’s not dry, dusty doctrine, but eminently practical in its application to our daily lives. The two, man to man, meet to discuss the lesson, pray, and learn from each other – laying that solid foundation and growing together in the faith.
