“Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.” Psalm 127:4-5
Here at Cornerstone church, we firmly believe that parents have been tasked with the sacred responsibility of being the primary disciple makers of their children. I believe my job is to be a resource to parents and to help equip them for this incredible and eternally significant task. It is also to be a help and supplement in teaching their children and teens to follow Jesus Christ. We know that no family is perfect but let’s help each other to do our best in submitting every part of our family life to the perfect will of God.
My Story
I grew up in a family that loved each other and loved Jesus. I saw from a very young age an example of devotion to God and to His Word. When I was old enough to understand the Gospel for myself, my father led me to place my faith in Christ. As I grew older, I struggled with the temptations of the world but always had a desire to do God’s will. I came to find that the only way to be in the Will of God is to be near to the Word of God.
My, wife Kyhlea and I met in our church’s youth ministry in Virginia when we were juniors in High School. We grew close to one another and committed ourselves to put the Lord first in our relationship. In the summer of 2014 we were serving as volunteer leaders on a middle school ministry camp and we both felt the joy of the Lord as we were serving and we felt God leading us to devote our lives to ministry. I have been serving in full-time ministry now since 2016 with Kyhlea at my side each step of the way and we are so blessed to be serving now at Cornerstone Church.
Kyhlea and I have two wonderful children (Josephine and Martin) and we are striving to raise them in the fear and admonishing of the Lord. I like westerns, fishing, and using my smoker to make delicious BBQ. I’d love to meet with you and pray with you some time.
